Mark Reinhard joins the Aurora team

Mark Reinhard has been appointed by Aurora to underwrite the various classes that the agency previously wrote for local insurers as well as the new products which have been added to Aurora’s portfolio following tribunualisation by Lloyd’s of London.

Mark was previously at Calliden Group as their Professional Risks Underwriter based in their Melbourne. He was responsible for all Calliden professional indemnity classes for broker binders around Australia.

Mark was Aurora’s account manager responsible for Aurora’s business relationship with Calliden Group and as an underwriter for most of the classes. He has decided to move on from Calliden following a restructure which would have moved him to Sydney and Aurora took the opportunity to use his talents in Victoria and broaden the skill base within Aurora, both geographically and underwriting.

Mr. Reinhard will assume his new role on December 1st 2008 and will play an important role in having a local contact for Victorian brokers to facilitate, represent, advocate, and build a business relationship together as well as underwriting the new facilities which Aurora have been granted or in the process of gaining, including general liability, professional indemnity and property insurance.

Aurora’s focus will be on affinity and association business to complement Mark’s prior experience in this sector as well as a focus on SME market where the niche products Aurora now has are best served to meet the needs of this all important area.

Aurora now has representation in NSW with CEO William Legge and National Business Development Manager, Philip Hawkes resident there, Russell Bresland in the Perth office as Business Development manager for WA and WA, and Paul Evans as Legal Expense Insurance Underwriter in Brisbane office to complement Mr. Reinhard appointment in Victoria.

This geographic spread of talent by Aurora will enable us to reach out and develop and foster business relationships with brokers focusing on SME and Affinity business throughout the length and breadth of Australia and will be enhanced by additional personnel as we strive to create a customer relationship management program that is unparalleled in this country.
